| Acadiana Seed Bank is dedicated to the creation of a seed bank housing edible, medicinal, and useful plant seeds from the culturally diverse populations of Acadiana. The seed bank will play a role in the survival of Louisiana’s cultural legacy, promote a sustainable, local food source and reinforce emergency preparedness and self-reliance for future generations.
Combining science and cultural preservation techniques, this program collects and preserves generations of obscure heirloom seeds that have been passed down through the generations to help retain agricultural and diversity and knowledge in Acadiana.
